As part of its business expansion plan, in 2009, Imesa decided to begin an internationalisation process. We took our first steps towards one of the most important markets in the hydroelectric and natural sector: Latin America.
In 2009, our first grilles and a trash rack were installed in Argentina. Ever since then, our exports have continued to grow as we have carried out projects with grilles, sluice gates and trash racks in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil, with sales offices in all these countries.
In 2014, we have also begun activity in Algeria, a country where we are installing various anti-flood gates for extensions to the Algiers metro.
In 2022, we began to take part in international tenders in Canada and we also intend to break into markets in various African countries.
International projects now account for 60% of manufacturing at Imesa.
